2020 was WEIRD…
…and not like the weird, but fun friend you want to hang out with.
How many times have we said this? I feel there are a lot of negative connotations when we say this. I think there are positive parts to it as well…but those are harder to see. So many things have changed, but then again, so many things have stayed the same.
I have been in the healthcare world for 10+ years. I work in DME along with my virtual assistant business. I am not on the front lines of this pandemic. I am still an outsider looking in on how things have changed in healthcare, but what a change it has been. Things are moving towards a more virtual world in many aspects, and possibly a more efficient world? I hope.
We’re all learning as changes come about every single day. We adjust how we need to but also cope with it how we need to. It’s frustrating, exciting and stressful. As a working parent, I can understand a bit of that world.
This is what has motivated me to really get my virtual assistant business off the ground. I’ve always enjoyed the services I’m providing, but I really see the added stressors this virtual world has brought upon health providers, and I want to help. I want to take what I can off their plate, so they can focus on patient care and their business. As an athletic trainer, I’ve always been the caregiver behind the scenes, trying to get that athlete back to their sport. I am the liaison to getting the best care for them, and when they get back to sport even stronger, I’m like a proud mom. I don’t do it for the glory or bragging rights, I do it because I care for people and enjoy helping them succeed.
I think we’ll all come out of this pandemic a little stronger, even if we feel a little broken. There are days I feel I’m doing amazing at balancing everything but then the next day I’m crying to myself in the shower because I’m just tired.
We’re in this together, let’s remember that! We’re surviving!
